Bainbridge

BAINBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL

bainbridge_logoHigh school lacrosse is a school club at Bainbridge High School.  The sport of lacrosse has been played at Bainbridge since 1987 with the girls team leading the way for the Spartans as one of the first in the state.  Boys lacrosse at Bainbridge followed two years later with its first season in 1989.  Bainbridge High School is located on the Kitsap Peninsula across Puget Sound from Seattle.

Boys: Senior defender Reynolds Yarbrough, is a 2014 Pre-Season All-Conference First Team selection and two-time All-State selection (2013, ’12)… Senior defender Reed Dolese, is a 2014 Pre-Season All-Conference First Team selection and 2013 All-State Second Team selection… Senior midfielder Dain Weisner is a 2014 Pre-Season All-Conference First Team selection… Senior attackman Jackson Larkin and junior midfielder Ben LaRoche are 2014 Pre-Season All-Conference Second Team selections.

Girls: Senior midfielder Sallie Marx, 2014 Pre-Season All-State and 2013 All-State First Team and All-Conference selections who will play NCAA D3 lacrosse at Pomona-Pitzer…  Junior attack Paige Brigham, 2014 Pre-Season All-State and 2013 All-Conference selections who as a sophomore led the Spartans in scoring with 56 points (37 19a).  She also had 29 ground balls… Senior defender Carolyn Yarbrough, a 2013 All-Conference selection.

Boys: Senior midfielder Beau Olson led all underclassmen in 2013 with 43 points (26g, 17a) along with 60 ground balls…  Seniors Will DeGennaro, a midfielder, and Kyle Murphy, an attackman, along with junior Sam Campidilli, an attackman, and sophomores Alex Bouterse, a defender and Bailey Weir a midfielder along with freshman Tyler Turnbull all play football for Gig Harbor High School.  The six helped the Tides advance to the opening round of the WIAA 4A state football tournament this fall.

Girls:  Peninsula High School sophomore defender Emily Mishko, a 2013 All-Conference selection with 34 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.

Boys: Sophomore midfielder Kellson Arthurs, a 2013 All-Conference selection… Nine student-athletes with the North Kitsap program play multiple sports.  Football, lacrosse crossovers include North Kitsap High School junior Sawyer Chapman, sophomores Matthew Dotterweich and Nickolas Brown and Kingston High School juniors Tim Anderson, Trevor Mays, and Andrew Monlox.  Others include Kingston senior Justin Herrera (tennis, lacrosse) and sophomores Quinn Peterson (tennis, lacrosse) and Jacob Starkel (swimming, lacrosse).

Girls:  Senior attacker Javlon Page and senior midfielder Samantha Ryan shared the North Kitsap scoring title in 2013, each logging 10 points (8g, 2a).  Page had 19 ground balls, 12 draw controls and 5 caused turnovers.  Ryan had 10 ground balls, 9 draw controls and 2 caused turnovers.

Boys:  Senior attackman Corey Marchand led all Peninsula student-athletes playing for the combined Penninsula-Gig Harbor team in 2013 and was second overall in scoring with 32 points (29g, 13a).  He also grabbed 43 ground balls… Juniors Zak Dobosh (football, track and field, lacrosse) and William Lester (football, wrestling, lacrosse), along with freshmen Dawson Meerdink (football, swimming, lacrosse), and Cameron Lewis (football, lacrosse), Brandon Miller (football, lacrosse), Brandon Miller (football, lacrosse) and Joshua Cook all helped the Seahawks advance to the WIAA 3A state tournament eventually falling to Gridiron Classic state champion Bellevue 48-27 in the quarterfinals.  Junior Brett Lyon (golf, lacrosse) is also a two-sport student-athlete at Peninsula.

PORT ANGELES-SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOLS

High school lacrosse is a multi-school club at Port Angeles and Sequim High Schools.  The sport of lacrosse has been played in Port Angeles and Sequim since 1995.   Originally a school club at Port Angeles, the sport is currently a combined club of the two high schools.  The Port Angeles and Sequim  communities are located just a few miles apart on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state.
