High school lacrosse is a multi-school club with the SW Lacrosse Club high school program.  The girls program is made up of student-athletes from Highline, Mt. Raineir, Thomas Jefferson, Aviation and West Seattle High Schools while the boys program, formerly known as “Highline” is primarily comprised of students from West Seattle High School.    Lacrosse has been played since 2005 for boys and 2012 for girls.

Student-Athletes to Watch in 2014

Boys:  Highline High School sophomore midfielder / faceoff specialist led underclassmen at a freshman in 2013 with 12 points (10g, 2a) along with 42 ground balls… Foster High School junior attackman Charlee Simpson had 10 points (8g, 2a) along with 54 ground balls… West Seattle High School junior Elliott Trowbridge had 2 points (2g) and 2 ground balls on the season.

Girls:  Federal Way High School senior center Gabriela Rojas-Luna, a two-year captain on the JV squad, set the all-time JV season scoring in 2013 with 68 points (56g, 12a) and also had  54 draw controls and 66 ground balls… Highline High School senior Rachael Swanstrom was the club’s leading defender grabbing 41 ground balls… West Seattle High School senior attack Martha Girma delivered 20 goals along with 17 ground balls and 8 draw controls.

High school lacrosse is a varsity sport at Kennedy Catholic High School.  The sport of lacrosse has been played at Kennedy since 2008 for girls and 2012 for boys.  Kennedy Catholic High School is located in Burien, Wash., just south of Seattle.

Student-Athletes to Watch in 2014

Boys: Junior midfielder Sebastian Ferraro, a 2014 Pre-Season All-Conference Second Team selection, was second in team scoring in 2013 with 47 points (33g, 14a) and had 50 ground balls…  Defensively, junior midfielder Ashton Pieris led all underclassmen and was second among Lancers in 2013 with 98 ground balls.

Girls:  Sophomore midfielder Ashley Cusack was second in points in 2013 and led all underclassmen as a freshman with 29 points (23g, 6a).  Defensively she compiled 26 ground balls and had 20 caused turnovers.

High school lacrosse is a club for students at Tahoma High School.  The sport of lacrosse has been played at Tahoma since 1999 for boys and 2006 for girls.  Tahoma Lacrosse primarily draws students from Tahoma High School and also Kentwood High School. Tahoma has won Boys Division II Washington Lacrosse State Championships in 1999 and 2000.  The program is located in Covington, Wash., southeast of Seattle.

Student-Athletes to Watch in 2014

Boys:  Junior attackman Taylor Hudson led all Bears scorers as a sophomore last spring with 57 points (38g, 19a).  Defensively he grabbed 39 ground balls… Tahoma High School has six multi-sport student-athletes on its roster, seniors Brenan Lundquist (football, lacrosse), Joe Donahue (football, lacrosse) and Brayden Saurbrier (football, lacrosse) along with juniors Brody Sullivan (football, lacrosse) and Nick Palandri (football, wrestling, lacrosse) and sophomore Macen Granlunch (football, wrestling, lacrosse).

Girls:  Junior midfielder Madison Fabie, a 2013 All-Conference selection, had 26 points (21g, 5a) along with 15 ground balls last spring.
