US Lacrosse names 16 high school All Americans in Washington State

SEATTLE – Sixteen prep lacrosse players in Washington state have been named US Lacrosse High School All Americans for 2015.

compete-with-class-transEight boys and eight girls, all 2015 graduating seniors, from 11 high schools on the Eastside, Seattle, Bainbridge Island and Covington were named to the national honor.

The Eastside leads the state with eight selections. Among them is Issaquah High School midfielder Suzanne Emerson, a second-year recipient, along with Eagles defenders Jordan Hepperle and Mikey Giannopulos. Others include Mercer Island attacker Hannah Paborsky and midfielder Evan Condon, Woodinville defender Molly Mitchell, Skyline attackman Charlie Kurtenbach, Eastside Catholic defender Arend Broekmate and Lake Washington defender Spencer Mueller.

In Seattle, Lakeside attacker Amanda Roper, midfielder Lindsey Call and defender Casey Clarke were honored, while midfielders Riley Johnson of the Seattle Academy and Sam Kopf of Seattle Prep were tapped.

Bainbridge attacker Paige Brigham and Tahoma attackman Hudson Taylor also received All American honors.

In recent years Washington state high school lacrosse student-athletes have increasingly been recognized on the national stage with 17 state preps tapped for All-America honors in 2014, 15 in 2013 and 14 selected in 2012.

Historically, a total of 81 boys and 56 girls from Washington state high schools have been named US Lacrosse All Americans.
