SEATTLE – A record 17 prep lacrosse players in Washington state have been named US Lacrosse High School All Americans in 2014. usllogo

Nine boys and eighty girls from 12 high schools in Seattle, Snohomish, Auburn, Bainbridge Island and the Eastside were named to the national honor including second-year recipients Colin MacIlvennie (Eastside Catholic), Chase York (Mercer Island) and Camille Sullivan (Interlake).

The Eastside leads the state with 11 selections. Among them are Eastside Catholic seniors MacIlvennie and Ross Komenda, Bellevue seniors Hank Bethke and Eric Haehl, Mercer Island seniors York and Peter Mahony, Interlake senior Sullivan, Inglemoor seniors Jacob Cartwright and Emily Sokol, Woodinville senior Alexandra Johnson and Issaquah junior Suzy Emerson.

In Auburn, Auburn Riverside senior twin brothers Michael and Joey Lucchesi were tapped.

In Snohomish, Glacier Peak senior Hanna Dalrymple and Snohomish senior Hailey Nyquist were honored.

Bainbridge High School senior Sallie Marx was the lone Kitsap area resident and Lakeside School senior Amerra Sheckles was the lone Seattle resident selected for the national award.

In recent years Washington state high school lacrosse student-athletes have increasingly been recognized on the national stage with 15 state preps tapped for All America honors in 2013 and 14 selected in 2012.

Historically, a total of 74 boys and 48 girls from Washington state high schools have been named US Lacrosse All Americans.
