US Lacrosse names record 15 high school All Americans in Washington state

usllogoSEATTLE – A record 15 prep lacrosse players in Washington state have been named US Lacrosse High School All Americans in 2013.

Seven boys and eight girls from 11 state high schools were named to the honor including second-year honorees Madeline Stevenson a Bainbridge High School senior, Natalie Fox, a Lakeside School senior and Claire Monsaas a Redmond High School senior and defender for the Bellevue East Lacrosse Club.

Along with Stevenson, a senior goaltender, Bainbridge led with the way with three All-American honorees including defender Regan Wortley and attackman Jacob Knostman, both seniors.

The Lakeside School and Mercer Island High School each had two honorees.  For the Lions, seniors Fox, a midfielder and Avalon Agawa, a defender, were both tapped on the girls team.  For the Islanders, junior defenseman Chase York represented the boys team while senior girls attack Dulce Moll earned All American honors.

Other boys recipients include Bellevue High School senior attackman Cole Johnson, Inglemoor High School senior attackman Drew Tosaya, Eastside Catholic junior midfielder Colin MacIlvennie, Camas High School senior Jack Beall, a midfielder at Vancouver’s King’s Way Christian School, and Spencer Noonan a junior defender at Skyline High School.

Girls recipients were rounded out with Interlake High School senior Camille Sullivan an attack with the Bellevue East Lacrosse Club and Woodinville High School senior Meg Chapman, a defender with the Lake Sammamish Lacrosse Club earning All America honors.

Historically, a total of 65 boys and 40 girls from Washington state have now been named US Lacrosse All Americans.
