Boys Division I

Overlake boys drops Tacoma in lacrosse
REDMOND, Wash. – Seniors Sky Tweedie-Yates and Devon Schmidt scored 3 goals to lead Overlake to a 12 – 11 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Tacoma, Tuesday at The Overlake School in Redmond. The goals were the 16th of the season for Tweedie-Yates and 15th for Schmidt who lead the Owls in goals scored. Chap Grubb had 9 saves in goal for Overlake as the Owls advanced to 4-3-0 on the season. Connor McLeod had 4 goals and Andrew Rega had 14 saves as Tacoma dropped to 2-7-0 on the season.

Eastside Catholic slips past Tahoma in boys lax
SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Junior Kyle Decker scored 3 goals to lead Eastside Catholic to an 8 – 7 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Tahoma, Tuesday at Charlie Acosta Field on the campus of the Eastside Catholic School. The hat trick gave Decker 10 goals on the season. Senior goaltender Brandon Veyette had 13 saves as the Crusaders picked up their third win of the season. Tahoma’s Josh Horn had 3 goals and Justin Hanson had 6 saves in Tahoma’s eighth loss of the season.

Lakeside boys score 18 to down Lake Tapps in lacrosse
AUBURN, Wash. – Senior attackman David Jamieson scored 6 goals and 2 assists to lead Lakeside to an 18 – 2 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Lake Tapps, Tuesday at Auburn’s Game Farm Park. The win evened the Lions’ record to 3-3-0 on the season. Josh Devenport had 4 goals and Brandon Sims had 10 saves as winless Lake Tapps dropped its seventh game of the season.

Eastlake rolls past Stadium in boys lacrosse
REDMOND, Wash. – Senior Ryan Hagerman scored 3 goals to lead Eastlake to a 13 – 4 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Stadium, Tuesday at Eastlake High School in Redmond. With the hat trick, Hagerman doubled his scoring production on the season to 6 goals. The win advanced Eastlake to 3-5-0 on the season while Stadium dropped to 2-5-0.

PA lacrosse storms South Kitsap
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. –Junior attackman Jacob Dostie scored a season-high 6 goals and handled 12 ground balls to carry Port Angeles to an 11 – 2 storming of South Kitsap, Tuesday at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Goalkeeper Julian Walls had 14 saves for PA which advanced to 5-4-0 on the season. David Gibson had 2 goals, TJ Pulkrabeck had 12 ground balls and goalkeeper Ben Landry had 18 saves as South Kitsap dropped to 2-5-0 on the season.

Three Rivers lax down Hermiston in Oregon
HERMISTON, Ore. – Sophomores Drew Wade and Mitchell McKay each scored 3 goals to lead Three Rivers to a 15 – 12 inter-state boys high school lacrosse win over Hermiston, Tuesday in Oregon. Wade’s hat trick gave the attackman a total of 20 goals on the season to lead all scoring with the Tri Cities high school club. Goaltender Daniel Hart had 8 saves as Three Rivers advanced to 5-4-0.

Lake Washington blanks Liberty in boys lacrosse
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Freshman attackman Ben Anderson netted 3 goals to lead all scorers as Lake Washington blanked Liberty 14 – 0 in Boys Division II high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Lake Washington High School. Anderson’s hat trick gave him 13 goals on the season, second best for the Kangs. The win is the fifth straight for Lake Washington, now 8-1-0 for first place in the Evergreen Conference. Liberty dropped to 1-7-0.

Providence handles Skagit Valley in boys lacrosse
LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Junior Oliver Thomas and freshman Harrison Wartes each scored 3 goals to lead Providence Classical Christian School to a 9 – 3 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Skagit Valley, Tuesday at Lynnwood High School. The hat trick gave the Thomas a total of 23 goals this season. Goaltender David Wartes had 11 saves for Providence, which advanced to 6-4-0 on the season. Skagit Valley dropped to 2-7-0.

Lynwood lacrosse downs Whatcom
LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Senior Alex Tindall scored 5 goals and 3 assists to Lead Lynnwood to a 19 – 5 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Whatcom, Tuesday at Meadowdale High School. The win moved the 8-2-0 Lynnwood club to a half game behind Cascade Conference leader Snohomish. With the loss, Whatcom dropped to 4-4-0.

Redmond lacrosse blanks Mt. Si

REDMOND, Wash. – Casey Downey scored 3 goals and Clement Signoretty had 12 ground balls to lead Redmond to a 15 – 0 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win, Tuesday at Redmond High School. The win evened the Mustangs record at 4-4-0 on the season. Mt. Si was led by strong crease play by Nate Whiteg and 7 ground balls by Cameron Pike. Mt. Si is now winless in its 8 starts this season.

Snohomish nets 19 in lacrosse defeat of Stanwood
SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Sophomores Brandon Todd and Josh Pederson along with senior Nick Hund all scored 4 goals to power Snohomish to a 19 – 5 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Stanwood, Tuesday at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish. The win advanced Snohomish to 9-2-0 on the season while Stanwood slipped to 5-3-0.

Wright OT goal lifts Hale lacrosse past Garfield
SEATTLE – Sophomore midfielder Alex Wright scored a game winning goal just 25 seconds into overtime to give Nathan Hale a 7 – 6 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Garfield, Tuesday at Summit Fields in Seattle. The game winner was the seventh of the season for Wright. Hale senior Ian Harvey scored 4 goals in the win and senior goaltender Spencer Adams had 7 saves as the Raiders moved to 4-6-0 on the season. Dandy Boelter had 3 goals and Danny Strick had 8 saves in goal for the Bulldogs. Garfield is now 5-3-0.

Girls Division I

Roosevelt girls win 3rd straight in defeat of Forest Ridge
SEATTLE — Senior Angie Anderson scored 5 goals to lead Roosevelt to their third straight win with a 19 – 5 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Forest Ridge, Tuesday at Seattle’s Magnuson Park. Anderson’s scoring outburst gave the Roughriders captain 24 goals on the season. Katie Voeller had 2 goals for Forest Ridge. Roosevelt is now 3-5-0 on the season, while Forest Ridge droped to 2-5-0.

Tacoma girls net 20 to down Garfield lax
TACOMA, Wash. – Stadium High School senior Eline Cove scored 4 goals and 3 assists to lead Tacoma to a 20 – 6 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Garfield, Tuesday at Mason Middle School in Tacoma. The win evened Tacoma’s record at 4-4-0. Cori Allen scored 3 goals and Barite Dawud and Zoe Stork combined for 26 saves for Garfield. With the loss, the 2-6-0 Bulldogs have lost 5 straight.

Snohomish girls drop Holy Names in lacrosse
SEATTLE – Junior captain Meaghan Hess equaled a season-high 9 goals to power Snohomish to a 19 – 3 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Holy Names, Tuesday at Seattle’s Magnuson Park. The win lifted Snohomish to 6-2-0 while Holy Names dropped to 3-5-0.

Lakeside D2 lax out-scores Ballard
SEATTLE – Midfielder Sale Rhodes scored 5 goals and 7 ground balls to lead Lakeside to a 15 – 9 Girls Division II high school lacrosse win over Ballard, Tuesday at Ballard High School. The win advanced the 6-1-0 Lions to three-way tie for third place with Kennedy and Overlake. Ballard dropped to 3-4-0.

Klahowya drops North Kitsap in girls D2 lax
SILVERDALE, Wash. – Koyuki Fritchman and Rocki Winkler each scored 5 goals as Klahowya Secondary School dropped North Kitsap 19 – 5 in Girls Division II high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Klahowya Secondary School. The win inched Klahowya closer to a .500 with a 3-4-0 record. Victoria Thomas had 3 goals and Val Kranich had 10 saves as North Kitsap dropped to 1-5-0.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
