Boys Division I

Bainbridge downs Northshore in boys lacrosse
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. – Bainbridge Island downed Northshore 16 – 8 in Boys Division I high school lacrosse action, Monday at Bainbridge High School. With the win, the Spartans are now 6-7-0. Northshore slipped to 5-3-0.

Bellevue boys down Mukilteo in lacrosse
BELLEVUE, Wash. – Cole Nordstrom scored 4 goals and Blake Samuel scored 3 to lead Bellevue to a 15 – 6 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Mukilteo, Monday at Bellevue High School. The win lifted the Wolverines to 10-2-0. Paul Linari had 9 saves for Mukilteo, which slipped to 4-7-0.

Puyallup boys roll past Prep in lacrosse
BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – Brian Carlson scored 3 goals and Zach Sttedman had 10 saves to lead Puyallup to a 12 – 2 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Seattle Prep, Monday at Bonney Lake High School. With the win, Puyallup advanced to 5-2-0. Cassidy Miller and Peter Christiansen each scored a goal and Jack Maurer had 12 saves for the 2-5-0 Panthers.

REDMOND, Wash. – Lake Washington High School junior Maggie Lehr scored a season high 6 goals to lead Lake Sammamish past Bellevue 22 – 16 in Girls Division I high school lacrosse, Monday at Marymoor Park. Eastlake sophomore Grace Hamilton had 10 saves in the win.

Seattle Prep drops Tacoma in girls lacrosse
SEATTLE – Sophomore Mary Sessler scored a season-high 7 goals and Kendall Ruggles had 11 ground balls to lead Seattle Prep to a 15 – 10 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Tacoma, Monday at Lower Woodland Park. Stephanie Adib had 14 saves in the win for the Panthers. Elizabeth Craddock and Saie Trevelen each had 3 goals and Charlie Cisacowski had 12 saves for Tacoma.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Seniors Sylvia Warren and Kyra Ray each scored 2 goals and 3 assists to lead Lakeside to a 17 – 1 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Curtis, Monday at Curtis High School.

Mercer Island girls lacrosse rolls past Hale 23-1
MERCER ISLAND, Wash. – Seniors Hannah Bahn and Lauren Ito each scored 4 goals to lead Mercer Island to a 23 – 1 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Nathan Hale, Monday at Islander Stadium. The win elevated the Islanders to third place in Division I play with a 6-2-0 record. Sophomore goaltender Erika Eagan had 8 saves between the pipes for the Islanders. Nathan Hale’s lone goal was scored by Emma Ciechanowski. Hale’s Emily Durand had 15 saves as the Raiders dropped to 0-7-0 with the loss.

REDMOND, Wash. – Kaya Reilly scored 5 goals to lead Snohomish to a 13 – 7 Girls Division II high school lacrosse win over Lake Sammamish, Monday at Redmond’s Marymoor Park. The win evened Snohomish’s record at 4-4-0. Marlena Masterleo scored 3 goals and 12 ground balls and Michelle Bodman had 7 saves for Lake Sammamish, whish slipped to 5-4-0.

Holy Names drops Graham-Kapowsin in girls lacrosse
SPANAWAY, Wash. – Jenna Johnston and Megan Chamberlin scored 2 goals to lead Holy Names to its first win of the season, Monday in a 6-4 Girls Division II high school lacrosse defeat of Graham-Kapowsin at Behtel High School. Holy Names moved ahead to 1-6-0, while Graham-Kapowsin is now winless in its 7 starts this season.

Eastside Catholic girls net 20 goals to down Auburn Mountainview
SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Amanda Tsitsis scored a season-high 8 goals and Alex Foreman scored 7 to give Eastside Catholic a 20 – 2 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Auburn Mountainview, Monday at Eastside Catholic School’s Charlie Acosta Field. The win advanced the Crusaders to 6-2-0. Katie Burkauser had 14 saves for Auburn Mountainview in the loss.

MUKILTEO, Wash. – Tyler Sherper scored 5 goals and Kelsey Ferguson had 11 saves to power Mukilteo to an 18 – 7 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Bainbridge, Monday at Kamiak High School. The win evened Mukilteo’s record at 4-4-0. Bainbridge slipped to 3-4-0.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
