Boys Division I

Bainbridge tops Tacoma for 5th win
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Jacob Knostman scored 4 goals to lead Bainbridge to a 17 – 6 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Tacoma, Tuesday at Cirque-Bridgeport Park in University Place. The goals gave the freshman midfielder 5 scores for the season. With the win, the 2nd place Spartans advanced to 5-4-0 while Tacoma dropped to 2-4-0.

Skyline lacrosse nets 14 to down Vashon
VASHON ISLAND, Wash. – Senior Spencer Matches scored a season-high 4 goals to lead Skyline to a 14 – 7 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win, Tuesday at Vashon High School. Skyline evened their record at 5-5-0 with the win while Vashon dropped to 1-5-0. Cullin Paridon had 13 saves in goal for the Pirates.

Puyallup drops Lake Tapps in boys lacrosse
BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – Kiel Morris scored 4 goals to lead Puyallup to a 17 – 5 win over Lake Tapps in Boys Division I high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Bonney Lake High School. With his performance, the senior attackman now has 14 goals on the season as Puyallup advanced to 3-1-0. Andy Russell and Jeremiah Davenport each had two goals for the 0-6-0 Lake Tapps club.

Northshore rolls past Mukilteo in boys lacrosse
MUKILTEO, Wash. – Inglemoor senior Taylor Wisman scored 5 goals and collected 10 ground balls to lead Northshore to a 12 – 7 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Mukilteo, Tuesday at Kamiak High School. The goals gave Wisman a total of 17 on the season. Goaltender Charlie Peterson had 8 saves for Northshore, which advanced to 4-2-0. Mukilteo’s Paul Linari had 10 saves as his club dropped to 3-7-0 on the season.

SEATTLE – Jonathan Lee and Dylan Evans scored 2 goals apiece to power Blanchet to its 6th straight win with a 6 – 3 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Nathan Hale, Tuesday at Blanchet High School. The win seated the Braves firmly in second place of the Metro Conference, just a half game behind Roosevelt. Joey Chernick had 2 goals and Alex Wright grabbed 11 ground balls as the Raiders dropped to 3-4-0 in the loss.

Lynnwood lacrosse 7-1 in defeat of North County
BRIER, Wash. — Junior captain Cameron Girgus set a blistering pace with 5 goals, 8 assists and 11 ground balls as Lynwood advanced to 7-1-0 with a 21 – 3 win over North County, Tuesday in Boys Division II high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Brier Terrace Middle School. With the win, Lynnwood maintained its half-game advantage over Snohomish atop the Cascade Conference. North County dropped to 1-5-0 with the loss.

SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Austin Tippett scored a hat trick to lead Snohomish to a 10 – 3 Boys Division II Skagit Conference high school lacrosse win over Skagit Valley, Tuesday at Snohomish High School. Snohomish advanced to 6-1-0 while Skagit Valley slipped to 2-5-0.

First place Klahowya drops PA in boys lacrosse
PORT ANGELES, Wash. – Kevin Bastein, Neil Sell and Caleb Hiller each had 2 goals to lead first-place Klahowya to a 9 – 3 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Port Angeles, Tuesday at the Storm King Soccer Fields. Nehemiah Salo had 10 saves in goal for Klahowya while Julian Walls had 14 stops for PA. Klahowya is now 5-2-0 for first place in the Olympic Conference while PA evened its record at 3-3-0.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Junior Oliver Thomas netted 5 goals to lead Providence Classical Christian School to a 13 – 4 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Whatcom, Tuesday at Lynnwood High School. The win advanced the upstart Providence team to 5-3-0 on the season while Whatcom evened its record at 3-3-0. Kurtis McFadden had 14 saves in net for Whatcom.

REDMOND, Wash. — Claire Monsaas and Allison Clements scored 3 goals to lead Lake Sammamish to a 15 – 9 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Seattle Prep, Tuesday at Marymoor Park. With the win, Lake Sammamish advanced to 4-2-0 while Prep evened-up at 3-3-1. Grace Hamilton had 9 saves in the nets for Lake Sammamish.

Anderson perfect as Roosevelt girls net first lax win
TACOMA, Wash. – Senior Angie Anderson completed a perfect game, converting 7 shots into 7 scores as Roosevelt outlasted Tacoma 15 – 14 in Girls Division I high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Mason Middle School. Anderson also contributed an assist and 6 draw controls as the 1-5-0 Roughriders netted their first win of the season. Tacoma slipped to 3-2-0.

Holy Names nets 20 to down Curtis lacrosse
SEATTLE – Grace Campbell and Caroline Vokos each had 5 scores to contribute half of Holy Names scoring in a 20 – 9 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Curtis, Tuesday a Magnuson Park. Anna Simone-Williams had 10 saves in net for the Cougars who are now 2-4-0 on the season. Goaltender Carina Coppedge-Pope had 11 saves as Curtis remained winless at 0-6-0.

SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Junior Meaghan Hess scored 5 goals to give Snohomish its 3rd straight win in a 9 – 6 defeat over Mercer Island, in Girls Division II high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Harvey Air Field in Snohomish. With the win, the Panthers crept within 2 points of league leading Lakeside. Erika Egan had 9 saves in goal for MI as the 4-2-0 Islanders lost just their second game of the season.

Undefeated Kennedy barges into lax league lead
SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Senior Natalie Merrill scored 3 goals and 3 assists to lift undefeated Kennedy to a 9 – 6 win over Snohomish in Girls Division II high school lacrosse action, Tuesday at Harvey Air Field in Snohomish. The win elevated the Lancers to a share of the Girls Division II league lead with Issaquah High School and The Overlake School. All three are undefeated. Jessica Toy had 14 saves as Snohomish dropped to 2-4-0 with the loss.

The Crusaders also received scoring support in 4 goals from Amanda Tsitsis and 3 goals from Lauren Breynaert. Michelle Bodman had 13 saves in net as 1-4-0 Lake Sammamish dropped their third straight.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
