Curtis lacrosse advances to 4-0 in win over Seattle Prep
SEATTLE – Taylor Dean scored 4 goals and 2 assists as Curtis advanced to 4-0 with a 18 – 8 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Seattle Prep, Wednesday at Seattle’s Georgetown Fields. In the win Curtis goalkeeper Mitchell Homeyer had 14 saves. Prep’s Cassidy Miller scored 3 goals and Jack Maurer had 13 saves in the loss.

SEATTLE – Luke Nintemann scored 4 goals and 2 assists as Blanchet blanked Franklin 14 – 0 in Boys Division II lacrosse, Wednesday at Blanchet High School. A total of 9 Braves scored in the win, as Blanchet advanced to 4 -1 in Boys Division II play. Franklin’s Arthur Vallagran had 5 ground balls in the Quakers’ loss.

SEATTLE – Midfielder Parker Williamson scored a hat trick as Roosevelt downed Nathan Hale 9 – 4 to advance to 3 -0 in Boys Division II lacrosse play, Wednesday at Ballard High School. Roughriders’ goalkeeper Kevin Ault had 11 saves in the win. Ian Harvey had 3 goals and Spencer Adams had 18 saves as the Raiders dropped to 1-3-0 on the season.

WOODINVILLE, Wash. – Trey Knowles and Cameron Girgus each scored 6 goals as Lynwood advanced to 3-0 with a 17 – 9 win over Woodinville, Wednesday at Woodinville High School. Drew Carlson Rothe had 11 saves in the win.

SEATTLE – Senior captain Sylvia Warren scored 5 goals as Lakeside rolled past Nathan Hale 19 – 2 to advance to 4-0 in Girls Division I high school lacrosse, Wednesday at The Lakeside Upper School in north Seattle. Emily Durrand faced 33 shots and had 15 saves as Hale dropped to 0-4-0 on the season.

Bainbridge girls score 21 on Prep in season’s first win
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. – Jacyln Biggers scored 11 goals as Bainbridge rolled to a 21 – 1 defeat of Seattle Prep for their first win of the season, Wednesday at Bainbridge High School Stadium. A total of 6 players scored as the Spartans evened their record at 1-1-0.

SEATTLE – Lakeside’s Girls Division II high school lacrosse team advanced to a perfect 4-0 on the season with a 15 – 3 defeat of North Kitsap, Wednesday at The Lakeside Upper School in north Seattle.

Wenatchee lax controls Graham-Kapowsin for first win
SPANAWAY, Wash. — Piper Essick scored 3 goals to lead Wenatchee to its first Girls Division II high school lacrosse win of the season in a 13 – 1 defeat of Graham-Kapowsin, Wednesday at Bethel High School in Spanaway. With the loss, Graham-Kapowsin dropped to 0-3-0 on the season.

Ballard’s Mora nets game winner in final seconds
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. – Sophie Mora scored with 32 seconds remaining in regulation to give Ballard a 12 – 11 win over Bainbridge in Girls Division II lacrosse, Wednesday at Bainbridge Stadium.

With an end-to-end game knotted at 11, Mora picked up her own rebound and fired it low and away past Bainbridge goalkeeper Laura Bricklin to seal the Beavers’ first win of the season. Jane Barnes and Maddie Sokup each had 3 goals for Ballard and Tyler Sherper had 5 goals for Bainbridge.

AUBURN, Wash. – Koyuki Fritchman scored 7 goals as Klahowya evened its record at 2-2 with a 14 – 10 win Girls Division II high school lacrosse win over Auburn Mountainview, Wednesday at Auburn Mountainview High School. Hannah Morse had 5 goals in the loss for Auburn Mountainview.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
