BELLEVUE, Wash. – Brett Mennella scored 4 goals as Bellevue advanced to a perfect 3-0-0 with an 11 – 6 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Skyline, Tuesday at Bellevue High School. Goaltender Austin Boyd had 11 saves for the Wolverines. With the loss, Skyline evened their record to 2-2-0.

Redmond blanks Liberty in boys lacrosse
REDMOND, Wash. – Tanner Champagna scored 3 goals to lead Redmond to a 13 – 0 shutout of Liberty in Boys Division II high school lacrosse, Tuesday at Marymoor Park. A total of 7 Redmond player scored as Redmond advanced to 2-1-0 on the season. Forrest Hurley had 10 saves for Liberty.

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Quentin Behr, Cody Bernstein and Carson Brown each scored 2 goals as Lake Washington improved to a perfect 3-0 with a 9 – 6 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Sammamish, Tuesday at Northwest University in Kirkland. Brian Headland and Christian Paxton each had two goals for Sammamish.

Dayton’s 2OT goal lifts San Juan lacrosse over Stanwood
STANWOOD, Wash. – Forest Dayton’s goal with 52 seconds remaining in the second overtime lifted San Juan to a 7 – 8 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Stanwood, Tuesday at Stanwood Middle School. Dayton’s goal, his 10th of the season, came following a scoreless first overtime. With 2:47 remaining in the fourth quarter, Stanwood’s Connor Merritt knotted the game at 6 to force overtime. The win lifted San Juan to 2-1-0 on the season, while Stanwood evened their record at 1-1-0.

With the win, Whatcom advanced to 2-1-0 on the season. Marcus Fakkema and Edgar Mendoza each had 3 goals for North County.

The win advanced PA to 2-1-0 on the season. Colter Smith tallied 2 goals for North Kitsap and Aaron Hack collected 8 ground balls in the loss.

SEATTLE – Gretchen Kayser scored a hat trick as Lake Sammamish advanced to 2-1-0 with a 17-6 Girls Division I high school lacrosse win over Nathan Hale, Tuesday at Nathan Hale High School. Ten Lake Sammamish players scored in the win, which advanced Lake Sammamish to 2-1-0 on the season. Helen Chyz had 3 goals of Nathan Hale.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
