Prep rolls past Lakeside in boys lacrosse

SEATTLE – Dave Schoettler and Arthur Stacey each connected for four goals to lift Seattle Prep over Lakeside 15 – 11 in Boys Division I high school lacrosse, Thursday and the Lakeside School in north Seattle.

The win evened Prep’s record at 5 – 5, keeping the Panthers alive in the hunt for a berth in the state tournament and dropping Lakeside from post-season contention.

Prep took the early lead, out-scoring the Lions 6– 4 in the first quarter. In the second, the two teams then matched goals at three apiece giving Prep a 9 – 7 advantage at the half.

In the third, Prep again had the advantage outscoring the Lions to take a 13 – 9 lead into the final stanza. Both teams scored two in the final quarter for the 15 – 11 final.

“This is a tough loss. We were fighting an uphill battle the entire game,” said Lakeside coach Jeff Pattison who was missing two starting attackmen, Sam Ballmer (injury) and David Jamieson (flu) from his lineup. “We were playing catchup the whole game. This likely puts us out of contention for the playoffs.”
