Tacoma downs Port Angeles in boys lacrosse

PORT ANGELES, Wash – Freshman midfielder Max Jones connected for three goals and two assists as Tacoma downed Port Angeles 12 – 4 in Boys Division II high school lacrosse action, Saturday at Roosevelt Elementary School in Port Angeles, Wash.

The win was the fourth of the season for the Lions as they rebounded from last week’s home loss to Olympic Division leading King’s Way and moved to within a half game of Vancouver school.

In the first quarter Tacoma took charge early on, shutting-out the Roughriders 2 – 0. The Lions then scored five in the second to take a 7 – 2 lead into the intermission.

In the third, Tacoma again took control, adding another four goals to PA’s two.

In the final stanza, the Lions shut-out PA with a solo shot to cruise to the win.

Tacoma’s Givanni Natalizio also had three goals while Griffin Meister connected for two. Bryce Johnson, Matt Semago, Alec Stewart and Daniel Lee also scored for the Lions. Tacoma goaltender Niko Natalizio had eight saves.

Port Angeles’ Dustin Walsh scored three goals as the 2-2-0 Roughriders dropped to fourth place in the Olympic Division.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in five of the last seven years.
